PORTAL AND SEMI-PORTAL (GOLIATH) CRANES

These Cranes are powerful overhead traveling cranes mounted on a moveable gantry of large span.

These cranes can be classified into two types, namely:

1. Portal (Goliath) Cranes – These cranes are generally used in an outdoor setting with a high lift and large span, where construction of support pillars and beams is not possible. Instead, the Girder is mounted on 2 or 4 pillars with Wheels, to enable it to move in the forward and reverse direction.
2. Semi–Portal (Semi–Goliath) Cranes – These cranes are mounted on 2 pillars with wheels on one side and wheels with guide rails mounted on a gantry on the other side. These cranes can be used in places where a gantry with support pillars can be installed only on one side.

Both these cranes are available in Single Girder configurations up to a capacity of 25 Tons and in Double Girder configurations up to a capacity of 200 Tons.
